Summary:
The VP of Technology & Engineering will play a key leadership role in the development of next generation broadband communications solutions enabling our Critical Infrastructure customers to build private broadband networks to solve their highly valuable use cases.

This important role will be PDV’s functional leader of wireless network strategy and engineering, collaborating and working closely with the leadership of PDV’s Product, Deployment and Operations, and Spectrum Management functions in the development and delivery of solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:
The VP of Technology & Engineering will lead a team responsible for developing solutions leveraging LTE and other wireless technologies tailored to PDV customers’ requirements. He/she will support the customers’ needs in designing, deploying and operating private networks and develop and engineer PDV’s products and services. The VP of Technology & Engineering will oversee a team who will perform engineering design/validation of wireless broadband communications solutions. Develop spectrum solutions and support PDV’s regulatory efforts.

The VP of Technology & Engineering must understand and assess customers’ needs and use cases, and support their decision making and deployment process including assessment, design, procurement, deployment and operation. He/she will develop requirements and deliver Traffic Models, Capacity Planning and Coverage requirements. This person will lead PDV in the testing, demonstration and trials of various technologies.

The VP of Technology & Engineering will attend conferences and workshops as needed to add insight to the verticals served by or technologies to be integrated into the network. He/she will work with manufacturers, suppliers and customers in ensuring how various products and services can be integrated into ecosystems, networks, or expand on existing capabilities. He/she will participate and represent the company at standards bodies related to technologies pursued by the company

In this role the VP of Technology & Engineering will work with the finance and procurement team in procurement of equipment, platforms or technology solutions and participate in the selection process. He/she will report the activities and performance of the projects the team is working on weekly to the SVP Technology & Engineering organization.
He/she will work closely with the Business Development, Marketing and Strategy teams to ensure the products and services being pursued meet the objectives of the future networks proposed to serve.

He/she will manage the Technology and Engineering team to success, hire great employees, development the growth, empower them to succeed, promote tier successes, manage their performance and encourage a fun environment that encourages positive results.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role a BS in an Engineering discipline with at least 15 years of commercial wireless experience in RF Network Design, Field Operations, Network Development, Equipment Engineering, Power and Heat Management and Site Development is required. He/she will have experience in developing critical infrastructure wireless solutions for various customers. He/she must have experience serving clients in a support capacity for key technical decision making, deployment and operations.

This role requires experience in technology development of wireless networks including leading demonstrations, trials, and first office application, and experience in leading technical organizations in a commercial wireless company to success. He/she must have experience in managing an organization’s financial activities within the specified framework set for the organization. Five years’ experience in project and program management, Programs Management Office experience a plus.

The required technology experience and knowledge for this role include LTE, NB-IOT, LMR, LPWAN, SCADA, Enterprise WiFi, CBRS LTE, Mesh, Microwave and others that maximize the ability to deliver a Network or Networks in support of the Critical Infrastructure Industry.
